What can the Bears gain from their week at the Senior Bowl?

January 23rd, 2017

While the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots prepare for Super Bowl LI in Houston, the Bears find themselves on a different excursion here in late-January. John Fox and his coaching staff are currently set up in Mobile, Ala., readying to coach the North squad in this year’s Senior Bowl (Hue Jackson and his Browns staff will lead the South).

The game isn’t until Saturday afternoon at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. But the activities in Mobile will pick up Tuesday morning, beginning with a weigh-in for all 106 prospects.

In all, Fox and his staff will preside over three days of practices while also leading meetings with their North squad. So just how much can the Bears coaches gain from the week in Alabama? Additionally, what value does this opportunity hold for general manager Ryan Pace and his staff?

Dan Wiederer and Rich Campbell offer their perspectives in this installment of “Real Talk.”
