Lammi Sports Management today announced the appointment of Rebecca Cameron Valcq (Becky Valcq) as General Counsel, effective June 16, 2014. Ms. Valcq most recently served as Regulatory Counsel at We Energies during a distinguished 15 year career. Ms. Valcq was recently named one of the Milwaukee Business Journal’s “40 Under 40”; an award given to 40 Milwaukee-area individuals under the age of 40 who are making a difference in their professions and communities.

Becky is an enormously talented, driven, compassionate person with the highest level of integrity and character, and she will be an invaluable asset for our organization,” said Brian Lammi, Founder & CEO of Lammi Sports Management. “Becky’s legal acumen, business strategy and charitable leadership experience will benefit our company overall, and specifically in our growing business units of event services, consulting and community partnerships. Donald Driver and I are also excited that Becky will be a driving force in building upon the successful efforts of the Donald Driver Foundation.”

Ms. Valcq’s former corporate responsibilities included litigating on behalf of We Energies in front of the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin and the Michigan Public Service Commission to obtain regulatory approvals for matters such as changes in energy rates and construction of new generating facilities. She advised company management on areas of compliance as well as the impact of pending and newly enacted legislation.

Ms. Valcq serves on the Board of Trustees for the Columbia College of Nursing and on the Board of Directors for Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee, Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast and the Milwaukee Art Museum Friends of Art. She also serves on the United Way Teenage Pregnancy Prevention oversight committee, the President’s Advisory Council for Mount Mary University, and as a member of Marquette University Law School’s Diversity Recruitment Committee. Ms. Valcq is a member of TEMPO Milwaukee and the Hispanic Lawyers Association.

Attorney Valcq received her B.A. in political science and Spanish from Drake University and her Juris Doctor degree from Marquette University Law School where she was President of the Association for Women in Law. She is a member of the Wisconsin, and American Bar Associations, as well as the Association for Corporate Counsel.
