Bucks’ Malcolm Brogdon Wins NBA Rookie of the Year

July 5th, 2017

In historic fashion, the Milwaukee Bucks’ Malcolm Brogdon won the NBA’s Rookie of the Year for the 2016-2017 season. The LSM client became just the second Buck to take home the honor, following Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s recognition in 1969-1970.

A second round pick out of Virginia, Brogdon also represents the first player since 1966 to win Rookie of the Year without being selected in the first round of the draft.

Brogdon’s award comes on the heels of an outstanding season in which he led all rookies with 4.2 assists and 1.1 steals per game. He also finished among the top five in 3-point, free throw, and overall field goal percentage, as well as points per game.

The Milwaukee guard also earned a unanimous spot on the NBA’s All Rookie First Team.

At the same awards show, the NBA named Bucks’ superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo its Most Improved Player, making him the first Milwaukee player to win the award. He had marked improvement in points, assists, rebounds, blocks, and steals, and became the first player in NBA history to end the season in the top 20 in those five categories.

Lammi Sports would like to congratulate both players on their impressive achievements. We look forward to continue working with the Bucks and are excited to be a part of the vibrant and promising outlook of the Milwaukee community and athletic landscape.
